We will start a regular lesson from April ! We had some small workshops last year for performance but in this class, instructor will teach basics: steps, turn, isolation and muscle training …etc If you love dancing, if you are interested in Indian culture and dance . Please join!

フランスに在住のパキスタン人のラフィアさんが先生です！日本にいる間に何かしたい、と連絡を頂き　急でしたがその情熱の深さに感銘を受けて開催することにしました。ビデオをみましたが力強いカタックステップが印象的で動画でありながら感動しました。
初心者の方向けに基礎のステップを教えてくれますので、カタックやってみたかった方に最適です！普段のダンスにバリエーションを増やしましょう^^

Rafia Bon, born in Pakistan, is a disciple of renowned guru, Sharmila Sharma from India. Rafia has collective experience of over 20 years as a professionally trained Kathak, Bollywood & a Contemporary Dancer. She also performs and teaches semi – classical fusions and other Indian traditional folk dance forms.
Rafia received her preliminary training in Indian classical dance (Kathak & Bharatanatyam) from the iconic and most reputed guru in Pakistan, Indu Mitha.

【Lesson Schedule】Gharba Dance Lesson | Indian Folk | Every…

This is a Indian folk dance, ‘Gharba’ Lesson!

What is Gharba Dance?
Gharba is one a famous folk dance in Indian. It is a Gujarat folk dance for the God, the Durga. (The Durga is for women power). The dance is very famous of autumn season festival, the Navratri.
The dance is including many basic steps for Bollywood: turn your body with your hands and neck movement. This dance form is very energetic!

What is a folk dance?
Repeating same steps with many people like a Japanese dance ‘Bonodori’ or a latin dance ‘Salsa’. You can dance with any songs if you learn a basic! Indian people are dancing a folk song front of the God for blessing. It is including Prayer meaning.

Teacher will teach steps one by one. We will have a dance performance on 25th Jun. You can join if you want 🙂 Please join us one lesson, if you are interested in Indian dance!

Dance Performance Indian Holi Festival in Funabori

We had a dance performance in March soon after starting our dance lesson in February.
Attended some students from Wednesday and Saturday lesson.

Holi is an Indian festival that is putting a color powder for each other. Basically it holds in March.
We danced Hole’s popular song ‘Salam Pichikari’ and ‘Go Go Go Govind!’ (I don’t know how many GO we need!).
It is marriage song but good for dancing with many people! ‘London Thumakuda’.
And little bit challenge song, ‘Nagata Sang Dohle’.

There is a many beginner! some persons are totally first time to do dancing.
But I felt we danced very well and beautiful! Many smiles. Thank you, teacher Monika.

Anyway we all are enjoyed the Holi festival 🙂

There was many Indians so I felt like as if I was in India!

I hope more Japanese guests are coming next year.
It was a very nice opportunity to know about Indian culture.

This lesson is a little bit unique! Focusing on ‘How do you use your body’.

Yes, Dancing needs a sense of rhythm or movement.
But I think ‘a way to use your body’ is more important than it!

Totally different from Indian’s body-build and Japanese’s one.
There is a many reason: Life style, food, DNA and the structure of the bone and muscle etc…

What points are different for dancing? How do we recognize it?
What point do we need to care for fixing these differences?
Which training is most effective?

We Japanese have a lot of dest work since we were young.
It is a one of a reason for not having enough muscle for dancing.
Let’s increase it with efficiency training and dance like an Bollywood stars!
